Real, rooted photography for creative and nature led folk and projects.
Photography instantly connects people to a message. I bring three decades of editorial and commercial experience to bring grounded, honest documentary style photography to your project that will connect the right people and communicate what you are about in an instant.
What I do.
In a world where people crave to know what’s real, I bring the most honest, true photography which comes from my love of creativity, respect for the planet and social acceptance. I work with creatives and artisans to create very human personal and business brand photography and also across outdoor and environmental lifestyle projects. I also offer imagery of Derbyshire and nature to license which has a range of uses from small business website to tourism campaigns.

I’m Emma.
I’ve worked in the editorial and commercial world for over three decades. I started as a picture editor on a range of magazine titles before I learned photography myself and set up my own business in 2010. I have worked for brands such as Soho House, Harrods and Hotels.com but when I moved to the Derbyshire Dales I found myself deeply drawn to a slower pace of life. I realised I could use my unique combination of skills and experience to help meaningful businesses and projects be seen in the most grounded and real way.
I’ve always been creative and connected to nature, caring about the planet and people. Many hours spent with my Grandad who was a keen twitcher, wildlife photographer, gardener and nature preservation activist means this work runs through my veins. I’ve studied naturopathic nutrition, nature connection and herbalism but I’m happiest with a camera in my hand, capturing the people and the projects making an impact.
When I’m not doing the above and all that comes with running a creative business, you can find me walking my rescue dog Ollie in the Derbyshire Dales, travelling in my self converted camper van, standing up for what I believe in, or at home with a record spinning - gardening, making tea blends from botanicals I’ve grown and working on my personal projects. I’m a combination of drum’n’bass trigger finger and touching a tree woo and proud!
My home and lifestyle blog is here. (but don’t get distracted if you’re here for photos!).
Queer, trans, black, brown, neurodivergent, fat/plus size, othered? You are so welcome infront of my camera! (I’m ticking off three of the above!)
