Interiors: Lifestyle Photography for Design Vintage.

In a time long ago I lived in a small area of Brighton called Fiveways - a tiny flat where my downstairs neighbours could hear my every move but the first flat I had no intention of sharing. Around the corner was an inviting homewares shop, placed on a corner tucked away from any traffic but inviting to parents coming back from the school run. It was beautiful and one of the first experiences I had of investing money into well made pieces for the home. Outside rugs were folded over a rail and baskets attractively littered the outdoors steps. Inside were gorgeous but useful pieces for the home including a few skincare products (when I first laid eyes on Meraki) and all set out on stunning vintage furniture.

At the time I was doing wedding photography while I established myself as a lifestyle photographer and I remember thinking how dreamy it would be working for a brand like Design Vintage - this beautiful little shop where everything was curated beautifully. It set the tone for how I would go forward decorating my rentals over the coming years.

Fast forward over ten years and I’m pulling up at a house in West Wittering I know really well. The house - owned by Lisa at Design Vintage that is now a thriving business with a large destination shop in Chichester - has been a backdrop for numerous shoots for different brands and books over the past five years. But on that day I was doing a really special shoot - photographing for Design Vintage themselves. It wasn't a task that I took lightly - a shoot I once dreamed of which was now a reality.

It’s a funny old business this photography lark - it never fails to amaze me how the wind can blow. So I’m proud and delighted to share with you some of the images I shot on that day and encourage you to check them out on the made over Design Vintage website too.
